My name is Jim Parker. I grew up in Ponchatoula , Louisiana just 35 miles east of Baton Rouge . After working in the chemical industry as an Environmental Technician for 13 years I moved to Houston , Texas and continued my Environmental career as a Project Manager in the Commercial Sector.

Recently, I have taken an early retirement to pursue my joy for woodworking. I have enjoyed woodworking in my spare time for approximately seven years constructing mainly large items like a deck for my home and a storage shed. I have learned most of my woodworking skills from my father while piddling around in the shop building various items.

My first project using a scroll saw I decided to make my own driveway reflectors .

I was very impressed with how they had turned out. I took pictures of my work and began showing these pictures like the proud owner of a new car.

When I moved to Houston and purchased a home in a neighborhood that is very well known for its holiday decorating and “Night of Lights”, I discovered that the holiday decorations were also sold with the house. As Christmas rolled around I noticed the plywood figures were old and the plywood was beginning to separate. I then decided that I would make new figures

and have them completed by Christmas the following year. Much to my surprise my house received the highest accolades being shown on local television, being published in a High School Newspaper and also receiving the neighborhood award for the “Night of Lights - Best Mailbox”

News of my woodworking skills began to spread taking me into many different avenues of creativity. I began receiving requests from friends and co-workers for sport team's logos

that they could display in their yard on game day as well as graduation signs

and various other holiday signs.

I then ventured into building and renting wind animated storks

for the announcement of newborn babies. With the stork, my clients received a baby bottle with the baby's first and middle name, date and time of birth and the weight and length of the newborn.

Taking time off from her Mary Kay sales, I have the assistance of my beautiful painter, Judy

With her help, I have even more time to concentrate on making the best yard cut-outs you or your neighbors have ever seen. She has been a real inspiration to me and has supported me in this effort to bring my (oops) our products to you.
