My name is Jim Parker (that's me in the picture above). I grew up in Ponchatoula, Louisiana just 35 miles east of Baton Rouge. After working in the chemical industry as an Environmental Technician for over 15 years, I moved to Houston, Texas and continued my Environmental Career as a Project Manager in the Commercial sector.
I have enjoyed working with wood in my youth learning what I could from my dad while piddling around the shop building and making various items. Once I began to take life more seriously, I made my first land purchase and put my first mobile home on the site. From there, I decided that I needed a storage shed and built it from the ground up with a little help from my dad. Once that was complete, I needed to occupy my spare time with another project. This time I made my own driveway reflectors and planted them on either side of the driveway.
At the end of 1999, I move to Houston and purchased a home in a neighborhood that is very well known for its holiday decorating and "Night of Lights". I discovered that the decorations were also sold with the house. As Christmas rolled around I noticed that the figures were very old and the plywood was beginning to separate. At that point, I decided to make new figures and have them completed by Christmas the following year (see pictures below). Much to our surprise, our house received the highest of accolades being shown on the local news stations, having an article published in a High School Newspaper and also receiving the neighborhood award for the "Night of Lights - Best Mailbox".
News of my woodworking skills began to spread taking me into many different avenues of creativity. I began receiving requests from friends and co-workers for sports team logos that they could display in their offices or in their yard on gameday. I then expanded into rental of a Wind Animated Storks for the announcement of newborn babies. With the Stork rental my clients received a cut out of a baby bottle with the baby's first and middle name, date and time of birth and the weight and length of the newborn for their keeping.
Taking the time after her busy work schedule, I have the assistance of my lovely wife, Judy. Her painting skills have brought our products to a level that I could have never achieved by myself. With her help, I have even more time to concentrate on making the best yard ornaments you or your neighbors have ever seen.
